California's watershed

Picture
This rapidly evolving demise of California’s Watershed is a microcosm of the global consequences of climate change.   As global shortages of water – and its resulting shortage of food and energy – become apparent, the critical ramifications on the social fabric and our national security become obvious.  As the documentary states, developing scientific and technological solutions must be an immediate priority. Furthermore, the debate over anthropomorphic warming is over. Steps need to be taken to reduce man made greenhouse gases before the world is set on fire.

Beyond the Brink

Picture
Beyond the Brink presents a possible future world that no longer supplies enough food or water to sustain its inhabitants and the inevitable impact that is having on National and International Security,’” stated Jim Thebaut, the film’s creator/director/producer.

Beyond the Brink focuses on California’s San Joaquin Valley and the ever-increasing difficulties for farmers and the local produce industry due to draught and water scarcity. The San Joaquin Valley is representative of a global crisis due to dwindling sources of agriculture around the planet. As these agricultural “food baskets” become increasingly unable to produce for its dramatically growing population, the critical ramifications on the social fabric and our national security become obvious.

The American Southwest: Are We Running Dry?

Picture
Featuring narration from Emmy® Award-winning actress Jane Seymour, The American Southwest:  Are We Running Dry? is a definitive look at how the water crisis affects the American Southwest states and its escalating economic toll.

From the White House to the House of Representatives, Jim Thebaut interviews key thought leaders for an intelligent and informed discussion about the evolving water crisis.  Thebaut  filmed at diverse locations including the Navajo and Hopi reservations, on Capitol Hill and in Las Vegas for an absorbing and contemplative discussion about conservation, water reuse, desalination, unprecedented population growth and future water policies.

Interviews with key members of Congress include Sens. Jon Kyl (Ariz.), Ken Salazar (Colo.), and Pete Domenici and Jeff Bingaman (N.M.), and U.S. Reps. Mary Bono (Palm Springs) and Jim Costa (Fresno). An interview with Dr. Gene Whitney, science advisor to President Bush, also is featured in this impartial and balanced documentary.

Running Dry

Picture
Inspired by the bookTapped Out, by the late Senator Paul Simon,  Running Dry is a visually dramatic and hard-hitting documentary about water issues in Kenya (where people have just 30% of the water they need). Award-winning actress Jane Seymour narrates as the film takes you on a journey that explores the impending severity of the global water crisis throughout specific regions in southern Asia, northern China, the Middle East, Africa and the American southwest. Various experts and world leaders are interviewed throughout the documentary stating their concerns, not only about their own regions, but also, about the challenges that exist throughout the world.

Everyday an average of 9,500 children die due to the lack of water or because of disease caused by polluted water. RUNNING DRY promotes and reinforces the message that water is a precious global resource, while also presenting a variety of solutions that are available to solve the crisis. The RUNNING DRY project is designed to be a comprehensive public information education project concerning the evolving water crisis.

The Cold War and Beyond

Picture
This comprehensive documentary feature establishes an inside view of the Cold War era and the events and decisions which lead to the escalation of the arms race and the development of over 60.000 nuclear warheads and a profound stockpile of chemical and biological weapons. Through the eyes of former Soviet and US leaders the cold war story is vividly and dramatically presented and it draws to an end with a perspective of its deadly legacy on today's fragile World.
